I'm long overdue (again) for a blog update, but again with good reason. Right now, I'm sitting on a plane headed back to the NW from my second business trip to NYC in two weeks. (Hoping I won't have to go back a third time next week.) Funny how it takes being cooped up on a four hour plane trip with my extra paid GoGo WiFi to finally have an opportunity to do a blog update. Ah the joys of being a company "Owner-in-training..."
I won't mention all the usual travel triggers, it's easy to just use the SenseHaven search engine to see similar posts on what my misophonia travel experiences are like. I will say that going to NYC a couple of days ago, the gentleman sitting next to me on the plane kept tapping his hands/feet to whatever music he was listening to. I politely asked him to stop (because I could feel the vibrations of his feet tapping radiating up my feet to the rest of my body) but a little while later he commented that I must've been feeling the vibrations of the turbulence. I told him that a bumpy ride doesn't feel the same as someone tapping his foot inches away from mine. (It's a sharp vibration that's concentrated on the floor, as opposed to the overall dull vibration when your whole body moves to the plane turbulence.) I could tell he must've thought I was nuts. Oh well...
Other than travel triggers, I've been so busy trying to get caught up at work that the times I do experience other triggers, I think to myself that I should be updating my blog post - or at least keeping up with my Twitter feed. For such a geek, I am so behind the times when it comes to social media. Somehow, I've got to get back into the swing of things...
I would like to thank everyone who continues to read this blog and visit the SenseHaven.com website in general. I appreciate the feedback and suggestions for new information to post. Just a heads-up... I received one comment yesterday that said the person is pulling together a support group for the NY/NJ/PA area. As soon as I receive more information, I'll put the details of the meeting in the "Support Venues" section. As always, if anyone has information about support groups, articles, or other information that would help people learn more about misophonia, submit the information in the "Contact Us" page and I'll upload it for all to see. :-)
